Everything You Need to Know About the WFC 2026 – Frequently Asked Questions Now Available

The Men’s World Floorball Championships (WFC) will be played in Tampere, Finland, from 5–13 December 2026. As the tournament approaches, fans, clubs, families and floorball enthusiasts have been asking plenty of practical questions about the event. To make planning easier, the most frequently asked questions have now been gathered in one place.

The FAQ covers topics such as when and where the championships will be played, how to purchase tickets, available ticket packages, what match tickets include, group ticket options, benefits available with children’s tickets and how to reach the venues using public transport.

The FAQ also addresses questions from the Finnish floorball community.

By decision of the Finnish Floorball Federation Board, no federation competitions will be played during the WFC from 5–13 December 2026, allowing as many players, officials and supporters as possible to experience the home championships in person.

“It’s important for us that both visitors from Finland and international guests can easily find the information they need before arriving at the event. With clear answers, accessible communication and practical guidance, we want every visitor to focus on what really matters: watching the world’s best floorball, enjoying the unique atmosphere of the home championships and celebrating the sport together,” says Kati Voutilainen, Secretary General of the WFC.

The Men’s World Floorball Championships will be played across three venues in Tampere. The group stage matches will take place at Hakametsä Ice Hall and Kauppi Sports Center, while the knockout stage—from the quarter-finals through to the medal matches—will be played at Nokia Arena.

Tickets on Sale Now

Tickets for all WFC matches are now available.

Group stage and quarter-final tickets are sold as day tickets, providing access to all matches played at the selected venue on that day.

The Final Weekend is available as a weekend package, including the semi-finals on Saturday, 12 December, and both the bronze medal match and the final on Sunday, 13 December.

Each match ticket also includes free public transport within Tampere on the day of the event. In addition, children’s tickets include complimentary admission to Vesimaailma Louhi, the water park located at Ideapark Lempäälä.

“Free of Limits is more than just our tournament slogan—it’s also our approach to building this event. We want the World Championships to be accessible to everyone, whether you’re a lifelong floorball fan, a club volunteer, a family with children, a school group, a volunteer or someone experiencing floorball for the very first time. These home championships belong to the entire floorball community,” Voutilainen adds.

Sixteen Nations Competing for the World Title

The tournament will feature 16 national teams.

Host nation Finland will compete in Group A alongside Latvia, Norway and Switzerland.

Group B: Sweden, Germany, Slovakia and Czech Republic

Group C: Singapore, Slovenia, Thailand and Estonia

Group D: Philippines, Japan, Canada and Denmark

More Than Just a Tournament

The excitement surrounding the WFC is already building across Finland. Throughout the summer and autumn, the championships will be featured at events around the country.

The milestone of 100 days to go will be celebrated with a family event at Tampere Central Square on 27 August.

Volunteers Still Welcome

Volunteers play a vital role in delivering the World Floorball Championships. Although the main recruitment campaign has ended, anyone still interested in joining the volunteer team is encouraged to get in touch.
