President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will serve as the official patron of the Men’s World Floorball Championships, to be held in Tampere from December 5–13, 2026.
First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb will serve as the official patron of the Women’s World Floorball Championships, to be held in Turku in December 2027.
The 2026 Men’s World Floorball Championships and the 2027 Women’s World Floorball Championships will be held under the patronship of the Finnish presidential couple. This honorable gesture highlights the shared values of the home championships. The men’s and women’s world championships are being organized in parallel, with the same ambition and commitment to equality.
Kati Voutilainen, Secretary General of the Championships, considers the involvement of the patrons to be an important message to the entire Finnish sports community.
“It is a great pleasure and honor for us that the President of the Republic of Finland and the First Lady are serving as patrons for both of our World Championships. The fact that the presidential couple are serving as patrons of both the men’s and women’s home championships, together and separately, sends a wonderful and inclusive message to Finnish sporting. The championships’ slogan, Free of Limits, reflects how floorball and sports can transcend boundaries on many levels. We want to make the World Championships events that inspire not only fans of competitive sports but also children and families to get active. It’s an honor to have patrons who have a strong personal connection to sports and a genuine understanding of its significance,” says Voutilainen.
The World Championships’ guiding philosophy, Free of Limits, is evident both on the field and in the stands. It serves as a reminder that sports overcome boundaries between countries, languages, and backgrounds.
The Championships to be played in Tampere and Turku are an opportunity to show how the sport brings people together and builds a shared sense of competitive spirit.
