Application Process and Schedule
The volunteer application period closed on April 30. We will contact all applicants during May.

The first volunteer training session will take place in Tampere on 12 June. Additional training sessions will be organized during the autumn according to a schedule to be announced later.
At all events organized by the Finnish Floorball Federation, we follow safer space principles. Therefore, all volunteers selected for the WFC are required to complete the “Et ole yksin” online course by Väestöliitto (the Family Federation of Finland).
Instructions for completing the course will be sent together with the selection letter.
Accreditation
Handing out ready-made accreditation cards and making new ones. Guiding guests to use the access areas indicated on their cards. This role requires a good customer service attitude — you are the first person to welcome event participants. Good language skills and an organized approach are also important for this position.
Volunteer Service
Maintaining cleanliness and a positive atmosphere in the Volunteers’ Lounge, organizing the space for meals, and preparing and setting out snacks and drinks for volunteers. This team is taking care of the well-being of the volunteers. A hygiene passport is recommended.
Medical
The First Aid Team’s task is to provide immediate first aid to team members, event staff, and spectators. This includes treating minor injuries on site and directing individuals to further care when necessary. The duties also involve assisting authorities when needed and helping to create a sense of safety by being visibly present at the event. The First Aid Team requires individuals with at least the Finnish Red Cross First Aid 1 (EA1) certification or equivalent training. You may also be a practical nurse, registered nurse, paramedic, doctor, or a student in one of these fields.
Construction
The core task of the Construction Team is to ensure that all event-related facilities—especially those at the field level—are built to a high standard and completed within the required schedule before the start of the tournament. The team also maintains these facilities throughout the event to ensure the smooth running of all training sessions and matches. The Construction Team is needed at all arenas for setup, on-call maintenance during the event, and dismantling afterward.
Doping Control
Chaperones accompany the player being tested throughout the entire process. The chaperone must be a male aged 18 or older. The role requires at least basic English skills, and specific training will be provided for the position.
Game Officials
The on-field match official duties require accuracy and good teamwork skills. Key tasks include operating the game clock, managing the backup clock, handling the IFF result service, and assisting with video reviews — prior experience in these areas is preferred. In addition, officials are responsible for supervising the penalty benches, which does not require previous experience. Specific training will be provided for the position.
Referee-hosting
The main goal of this team is to ensure referees and supervisors have the highest quality conditions and facilities possible for their duties. You are specifically responsible for streamlining the referees’ arrival, their presence at the venue, and ensuring a smooth transition to their officiating work. The role requires an excellent customer service attitude, as the work often takes place in a highly hectic environment. You must be fluent in English in addition to Finnish. The minimum age requirement is 18 years.
Event Office
In the Event Office, you are a key point of contact. Team is well-informed about all event matters. You are able to direct enquiries to the correct contact person or department when necessary. You will serve a wide range of customer groups, including teams, volunteers, the event organization, and the general public. This team is also responsible for serving as general public guides. The role requires an excellent customer service attitude and proactivity in what can sometimes be a very hectic environment. We require fluent verbal and written skills in both Finnish and English.
Hospitality
As a Hospitality Volunteer, you are responsible for the smooth operation of the Hospitality area, including welcoming, guiding, and instructing guests. You ensure the area remains tidy and that guests enjoy their entire visit. You will guide guests to their viewing seats if necessary and answer any questions. You will work with the World Championship organization’s and IFF’s guests, such as International Federation representatives and state guests.
Duties also include welcoming interviewees and other performers, and assisting the host/presenter when required. Success in this role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in an international environment. Fluency in Finnish and English is essential; other language skills are an asset. Age requirement: minimum 18 years.
Merchandise Sales
In Merchandise Sales, you will work at a dedicated fan shop location or as a mobile seller among the audience. You are responsible for the smooth operation of the sales point, sales, and providing excellent customer service. Your duties include product display, shelving, sales, and assisting with logistics tasks. Success in this role requires initiative, a customer service attitude, and language skills. Previous sales experience is considered an asset. The minimum age requirement is 16 years.
Team Guides
Your task is to take care of the team’s practical daily life and act as an invaluable information intermediary between the team, the event organizer, and the IFF throughout the tournament. The role requires an excellent customer service attitude and the ability to solve situations agilely. Success in this role requires fluent command of Finnish and English. Other language skills are a great advantage, and if you have a specific reason to wish to be the contact person for a certain country, please tell us about it!
Service Team
In the Service Team, you are the engine of the tournament’s daily operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Your tasks are versatile and practical. They may include laundry and towel service, delivering match balls, preparing officials’ tables and meeting rooms, and assisting the teams’ own support staff. This role requires a strong customer service attitude and flexibility, as you will work closely with various stakeholders. Success in this role also requires sufficient language skills to operate in an international environment.
Ticket Sales
In the Ticket Sales Team, you sell the tournament tickets at the arena ticket office and coordinate ticket deliveries (group bookings, VIP-tickets, printing tickets). You can also guide spectators if they have questions about the tournament. Great customer service skills are needed even in a very busy environment. Language skills needed: Finnish and English.
Statistics Team
This team makes sure all the official match statistics and other data are gathered. This team makes sure that the data is in right form and is available for anyone who needs them soon after each match. Language skills needed: Finnish and fluent English.
Security, Crowd and Traffic Management
You make sure that traffic just outside the arenas runs smoothly. You guide tournament participants, spectators and media representatives and make sure they know the allowed routes and areas for them in the arenas (e.g VIP-areas). You co-operate with the arena’s security services. Let us know, if you also possess a valid security steward licence. You are at least 18 years old. Language skills needed: Finnish and English.
Court Program Team
In this team, you will play a key role in creating an unforgettable match atmosphere! You will be involved in the execution of the pitch-level match events, specifically managing interval entertainment and ceremonies. Your tasks include ensuring that the ceremonies proceed smoothly according to schedule. You will precisely guide award presenters, performers, and interviewees to the right places at the right time, and ensure that the correct awards find their way to the winners. Furthermore, you and your team will make sure that the teams are ready to step onto the arena at the perfect moment. This role requires fluent command of both Finnish and English.
Transportation
As a Transport Team member, your main task is to ensure that referees, IFF representatives, the Jury, and other key stakeholders arrive on time. You will be responsible for transporting them using official event vehicles mainly between the airport, accommodation hotels, and the competition venues. You must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, and be fluent in both Finnish and English. Local knowledge is considered an asset.
Rinkside Crew
We are looking for Rinkside Crew groups of 8–10 people, each with a designated team leader. As part of the Rinkside Crew, you ensure that the field of play remains in proper condition. Your tasks include straightening the rink boards, returning game balls to the court, maintaining the goals, taking care of the floor mat, and cleaning and drying the playing surface. All Rinkside Crew members must be at least 12 years old. We are also looking for individuals to join our team who will be responsible for guiding the Rinkside Crew groups upon their arrival at the venue and providing them with task-specific orientation.
Media Services
The Communications and Media Services team is responsible for diverse content production (text, images, videos, and social media channels) as well as assisting with post-match media formalities and media representatives. The tasks require expertise in producing communication content, an energetic attitude, an agile working style, and fluent English language skills. Other language skills are considered an asset.
Promotional Events Team
Promotional Events include smaller events that are related to the championship event, for example the official event plaza (these don’t include official ceremonies e.g. opening ceremony and intermission program). The team members are in charge that everything runs smoothly at the events. Events are arranged already before the tournament and of course during the tournament in December. Great customer service skills and active approach are essential in this team. Language skills needed: Finnish and English. You must be at least 15 years old.
