Join the Volunteer Team for the 2026 World Floorball Championships!

An indispensable part of the World Floorball Championships in December are the amazing volunteers, without whom the event would not be possible. Now you have a fantastic opportunity to be part of organizing Finland’s biggest sporting event in 2026.

As a member of the volunteer team, you will take part in interesting tasks, gain a great opportunity to learn new skills, and experience the unique and international atmosphere of a major sporting event.

The most important thing about volunteering is having the right attitude. You are very welcome to apply even if you do not have previous volunteer experience.

If you are already an experienced volunteer, please remember to tell us about it. A positive and enthusiastic approach, along with the ability to work as part of a larger team, are important qualities for every volunteer.

Good to know

The World Floorball Championships will take place in Tampere from 5–13 December 2026. The venues for the preliminary round matches are Hakametsä Ice Hall and Kauppi Sports Center. The tournament will culminate at Nokia Arena, where the quarterfinals through to the final will be played.

Volunteer roles will mainly take place during the tournament, but some tasks will begin already around the turn of November and December.

Language and other requirements for different volunteer roles can be found in the task descriptions, so please review them carefully. We hope that applicants are as committed to the process as possible already at the application stage, although we understand that unexpected obstacles may sometimes arise.

Application process and schedule

The volunteer application for the World Floorball  Championships is open until 30 April 2026. If you have previously worked as a volunteer in floorball tournaments or other events, please tell us about your experience and any special skills you may have. Please complete the application even if you have already been in contact with us earlier regarding volunteering.

Selected volunteers will be divided into smaller teams led by team leaders. Let us know in your application if you would like to serve as a team leader.

The first volunteer training session will take place in Tampere on 12 June. Additional training sessions will be organized during the autumn according to a schedule to be announced later.

At all events organized by the Finnish Floorball Federation, we follow safer space principles. Therefore, all volunteers selected for the WFC are required to complete the “Et ole yksin” online course by the Family Federation of Finland.

Instructions for completing the course will be sent together with the selection letter.
